Country Club Interior Design

"This year, St. Davids Golf Club, Wayne, PA razed its 80-year-old clubhouse and completed construction on a new facility. St. Davids is a 109-year-old private golf club with a Donald Ross design golf course.

The interior design work for the new clubhouse was awarded to Balongue Design, which is headed by Barbara Balongue, IIDA. The Building Committee, Interior Design Committee, and members of St. Davids are extremely pleased with the results of her work. The architecture of the new building is that of an old stone farmhouse, very similar in appearance to the old clubhouse.

The old clubhouse, while in poor condition, was very warm and comfortable, and it was important to the membership that the new facility have similar look and feel. Barbara Balongue and her associates were highly successful in capturing the essence of St. Davids Golf Club with the interior design plan. The new clubhouse interior is warm, comfortable and friendly in every way and has captured the tradition and culture of our 109-year-old Club. The color schemes work together to insure a flow and continuity from room to room, and the furniture is both attractive and comfortable. Balongue Design was solely responsible for the design of the millwork, including the bar, fireplace mantels and surrounds, and wainscot throughout the building. The completed plan was brought in under the established budget without cutting any corners or sacrificing quality.

Barbara and her team captured exactly what we wanted and throughout the process they were very easy to work with and always readily available.
